SENIORS!! WE’RE THE MIGHTY SENIORS!! ::Champions::
September 1, 2008 — innersakuraKyaa! I. Am. So. ECSTATIC!!!
Honestly! The Seniors won in the cheerdance competition–that is one HUGE news. We’re all THRILLED about this!
It was all very confusing and amazing at the same time. We had so little time to prepare, since we had NCAE reviews each weekend and we can only practice on weekend afternoons and the whole last week of August. That isn’t enough either. We had new formations just this Saturday, two days before the competition, and we had blocking at the quadrangle in the evening too. Our trainer…well, he IS far cry from the juniors’ trainer, who also trained the previous batch of students who won in their junior year. Well. HMF. Anyway, our practices were mostly, like, pffft-the-seniors-are-really-so-lame. Our teachers practically yelled at us, scolded us a thousand times, made us repeat the whole sequence again and again. . . . And this Monday morning, it almost seemed as if they had little hope and trust left on us. Everything counted on ourselves. If we want to win, we’d have to work hard to make ourselves win. Simple.
I was honestly intimidated when I first saw the juniors’ props. First I saw their pom-poms, similar to ours, then their fans, then the swords, then the cloth-like things they put around their waists and covered themselves with during the performance, and the ever-present JUNIORS block thingies that the previous batch also had. Their year color, red, was also very intimidating. All we seniors have are our pom-poms, wristband thingies, capes and superman/senior logo’s on the dancers’ shirts, these gigantic weird vases, and the simple flags. SIMPLE! Nothing that stands out too much.
When we performed under the tremendous and agonizing heat of the sun, I was already out of breath. My voice cracked, I was panting, and my throat was uber dry. I don’t want myself to drag or something, so my other choice was to simply give out all my energies for this one presentation, a feat that we all shared. XD I listened to our cheers when I gasped for breath, it seemed so weak, but the few seniors who didn’t participate in the dance confirmed that our voices were extremely LOUD that the glass windows in the second and third floor buildings practically VIBRATED. That was overwhelming to hear. And we didn’t make any mistakes in our cheers! We had the I Said Burn and the Loyalty Song done properly. Although we had a few mistakes with the dance steppings, they weren’t that obvious. HAH. The flyers were extremely cute too, they said. I wish I’d seen them. XD
The juniors? Well, they were cool. I can’t deny that. But they broke several rules: they left their props (although they did pick them up a little while afterward), they had dangerous stunts (third tower flying stuff), they used cloths as props DURING their dance (which, I heard, wasn’t allowed) and their voices were weak. ABSOLUTELY WEAK! Not to mention that their trainer was in front, leading them. WTF?? I LOL’D!!!!! Are they still BABIES that people still have to look after? Pathetic! They practiced for a longer time than we did, they even practiced just before the dance. (HAH! waste your energies for that, idiots)
I don’t have any real grudge against the juniors but they really seem so overconfident, it’s almost irritating. One of them congratulated us, but added that we didn’t deserve it. WTF? Who was he to judge us? Liek our hardwork and sacrifice weren’t enough? Just because they hired the trainer that made the previous batch win doesn’t mean they would win either. It’s all with the spirit and the group. And they’re desperate–spreading rumors about us paying the judges to let us win was very very very LOW. Pathetic, in fact. Of course, we wouldn’t stoop down to their level. But we do aim to be the overall champion, and to do this we have to win in most of the games during the intrams week. This is our last year in HS. We deserve to win [-(

But aside from that victory, I ate lunch and practically spent the whole afternoon with him. Hahaha. It was… fun. Really. It was fun.
